History of Amalga Systems, Inc
Amalga Systems, Inc (ASI), is a Small Business Administration (SBA) certified 8(a) company founded in 2011. A minority owned small business. ASI provides IT solutions and consulting services focusing on Cyber Security and Federal Information Security management Act (FISMA) compliance. We have the experience, knowledge and skill set to deliver real and measurable results to our clients. In additional to Cyber Security services, ASI also offers Full Service IT support and Administration, Data Management Services, Software Development and System Integration, and Web Content Management solutions to satisfy both commercial and government organizations. ASI currently serves customers spread across a wide geographic area, including Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, New York, Ohio, and the Metropolitan Washington region.
ASI’s founder and president, Otto Ho, is a seasoned Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than 18 years combined IT controls auditing, consulting and due diligence experience from top tier consulting firm Ernst & Young LLP and other publicly listed IT firms. Mr. Ho earned his Executive MBA from University of Virginia and is highly proficient in the enterprise change management and business process improvement disciplines. He has provided IT control assessments, audits, due diligence, management consulting and process improvement engagements to various Fortune 500 companies.
Most recently, Mr. Ho serves as a Senior Subject Matter Expert at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where he directly supports the Chief Information Officer’s Cybersecurity, Compliance, Audit and Policies (CCAP) missions, covering aspects of both the Information Security Program Management and Information Security Risk Assessments. In a period of four months, he assisted the Information Technology Center (ITC) of FCC to successfully closeout more than half of the 68 recurring FISMA Notice of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs) resulting from external audit conducted by KPMG LLP.
History of Array Information Technology
ARRAY was incorporated in 1997 in the State of Maryland and currently operates its corporate headquarters from Greenbelt, MD. A significant event in ARRAY’s history occurred in 2002 when ARRAY received its SBA 8(a) status for small, minority-owned firms, and the ensuing year when SBA approved a Mentor-Protégé agreement for ARRAY and MultiMax (ARRAY’s 8(a) Mentor). Upon this event, ARRAY and MultiMax embarked upon a strategy to grow the company via strategic contracting vehicles. Through this effort, ARRAY was able to procure major vehicles with GSA, DHS and State Department. In addition, in 2007, ARRAY won a similar vehicle in Montgomery County, MD.
From 2006 through 2009, these vehicles provided a foundation for significant growth, supported in a large part by operational, business development and proposal support from the Mentor. As a result of this effort, ARRAY was approaching the ceiling in size for remaining a small business, and 8(a) graduation in 2011. As a result, a significant decision was made to invest in the corporate infrastructure of the company to enable the transition from this small business, 8(a) status to a competitive full and open capable company. These investments were in the area of corporate leadership, operations management, business and proposal development, and quality assurance.
In 2014, ARRAY gained tremendous traction in the US Air Force via these investments, and particularly through the winning of the multiple-award contracting vehicle called NETCENTS-2 Application Services Small Business Companion. Today, ARRAY is a $45M annual revenue company with a strong leadership team.
